Sami, the Insecure Rescue Dog

Training Program:
Private Session

Hometown:  E. Greenwich, RI

We adopted Sami, a one-year-old Weimaraner mix, and for the first week in our home, she was such a well-behaved dog.  And then “the real Sami” started to emerge.

Her Separation Anxiety began to escalate, she destroyed everything in our house; shoes, socks, sunglasses, carpets, pillows, gloves!  As things got worse, she began to show fear-based aggression toward my husband.

She would snap at our 13-year-old daughter whenever they would play.  Anyone that came to our door was greeted with wild barking.  She would charge after other dogs.  She was very mouthy with us, sometimes nipping. She was so horrible on a leash that we avoided walking her.

It got to the point, after a month, where we were literally living in fear of what she might do next.

We took her to private lessons at a local obedience school and they basically taught her how to sit and sent us on our way ($130 later!).

I got so desperate that I began scouring the Internet for information, thinking I had to fix this on my own but I couldn’t find anything that really addressed Sami’s problems.  I really wanted Cesar Millan to come to help us!

Then I stumbled on Canine Behavioral Service’s website and started to read the testimonials about Brian and his philosophy on Behavior Modification.

I decided to call Brian to see if he could help. I explained to Brian what was going on with Sami and he gave me the option of In-Home visits with the possibility of a more intensive Board & Train 45-day stay.

At first, I thought it seemed like a lot of money and was skeptical about the possibility of giving my dog up for 45 days.  But after much consideration, I realized I had no other options.

Brian came to our home for the first visit and was extremely professional, engaging and amazing with Sami. That is when I realized, “I found my Cesar Millan”!

Over the next few months, Brian helped us to transform Sami into a balanced dog.  She is a pure delight to have in our home now. She is obedient, sweet, loving and so eager to please.

We found great value and benefit in the Follow-Up Sessions, conducted in our home, as Brian could see Sami in her own environment and make suggestions on how best to train her in our home.

I also liked the ability to email Brian anytime with questions or concerns.  His quick and thorough responses were key to us being able to get through some of the rough patches.

Sami spent ten days, as a Boarder, at Brian’s facility where she was able to learn how to be a member of a Pack.

It was absolutely amazing and inspiring to see her running free with a pack of dogs and truly being a dog!  When I brought her home from boarding, it was as if all her anxiety had been drained from her.  She is so much calmer than before.

She is a happy dog and a wonderful pet now!

Bottom line is, Brian’s services were worth EVERY PENNY!

He also helped us with obtaining the proper caging, collars, food, etc… that were all part of making Sami’s transformation successful.

We plan to use Brian for Boarding, whenever possible so that Sami can continue to grow and learn as a part of a pack.

Thank you Brian for all that you have done for our family!
