Spike was adopted right around the 4th of July, 2012 by a very sweet family in New London CT.  The family – husband, wife and two young girls – were very loving and committed to providing for Spike. Within a couple of days at the family’s home, Spike began to show some signs of aggression towards the husband.  After our initial consultation, the family decided to enroll Spike in our In-Patient Behavioral Rehab Program.

Spike did very well in his six weeks of Rehabilitation & Training and was brought back home where we conducted extensive human training.  Unfortunately, not all dogs and humans are meant for each other and it was apparent that Spike was not “meant” to live with the husband in this family as they just could not make a connection.  At that point in time, we had a wonderful little Lhasa Apso named Buddy in our Pack.  After some deliberation – we offered Buddy to the family in “trade” for Spike.  I know, this seems a little odd – trading dogs.  But, in the end – it all worked out wonderfully. Buddy, a mild middle-aged dog who lived alone and was mistreated by an elderly woman, was now living out his “retirement” years with two girls who adore him while Spike, was in his forever home at last.

Spike has quickly become an absolute integral part of our lives and business here.  We love him as much as he loves us!!
