We just wanted to follow-up with you to let you know how great the results were with Red Dog this past summer, after the Canine Behavior Trainin program at Canine Behavioral Services.
As you’ll recall, Red Dog was great interacting with our family, but began exhibiting increasing levels of aggression when encountering other dogs during walks, and particularly with visitors to our home.
The problem escalated to the point that my wife became afraid to actually walk him alone without me, in fear of any number of different potential unwanted scenarios.
At first, we thought that we would work with you on the standard “4-session in-home modification plan”, but quickly agreed during the initial visit that the “board & train” program at your facility was warranted and really in Red Dog’s best interest in terms of optimizing chances for success.
Our daughter was a bit upset at the thought of not seeing him for possibly a month and a half, but we explained that it was the best way to correct Red’s problems.
All that I can say is that we were incredibly impressed with the results of the time he spent with you and the “pack”. Red came back a truly changed dog and we learned a lot of behavioral techniques from you to utilize with him on a day-to-day basis consistently to ensure ongoing success.
The positive change in his demeanor was an additional benefit – his improved obedience – listening to commands and a reduction in his “nervous energy” were additional unexpected gains as well.
The overall behavioral changes and improvements have just been amazing, and Red himself seems much happier knowing his proper role within the pack.
We are very thankful for the attention and focus that you were able to provide for Red Dog in helping to ensure the very positive outcome from his session/stay with you. In fact, we were so pleased with his interaction with the “pack” that we intend to continue using your company for boarding in the future for those times away, even though there are boarding kennels located much closer within our area.
We’re sure that Red Dog will be pleased to see his “pack buddies” again as well!
